About us
Rushall Village FC is a community-focused children's grassroots football club based in Bloxwich, Walsall. Operating as a Community Interest Company under the motto Pride. Passion. Performance., we run approximately ten teams from Under 7s upwards, with matches played at Abbey Park and training delivered at Rushall Cricket Club. Our mission is straightforward: football for everyone, no exceptions.
The role
We are seeking an enthusiastic volunteer to lead our newly-formed Under 7s team. This is a hands‑on coaching role focused on introducing young players to the game in a fun, safe, and developmental environment, fully aligned with the FA's Foundation Phase guidance and the club's own coaching syllabus. You will be supported throughout by our senior coaching team, Head of Coaching, and Club Welfare Officer.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver weekly training sessions in line with the FA Foundation Phase syllabus and the club's coaching framework
- Manage match‑day squads on Saturdays, including team selection, parent communication, and post‑match reporting
- Foster a positive, inclusive, child‑centred environment that prioritises enjoyment and long‑term development over short‑term results
- Communicate professionally with parents and carers via the club's official channels
- Uphold all FA, league, and club safeguarding policies at all times
- Attend periodic coach development sessions and team meetings
- A genuine willingness to work with children aged 6–7 in a positive, encouraging manner
- Ability to commit to weekly training and Saturday fixtures throughout the season
- Good communication skills and reliability
- Successful completion of an Enhanced DBS check (funded and arranged by the club)
- Successful completion of FA Safeguarding Children and FA Introduction to First Aid in Football courses prior to taking sole charge of sessions (funded and arranged by the club)
- Previous coaching, teaching, mentoring, or youth work experience
- Existing FA coaching qualifications
- A full UK driving licence
