We are excited to offer a rewarding opportunity to join our Dementia Services Team as a Regional Dementia Lead. We are currently developing and refining our innovative Dementia Care Programme, designed through comprehensive consultation with residents living with dementia. This programme aims to support them in living their best lives. With the right care and assistance, we believe people living with dementia can thrive, and we need your expertise to help oversee and enhance this support across our care homes. Your role will also involve contributing to the ongoing development of our unique Dementia Care Programme.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assisting with the continued development of the Dementia Care Programme.
  • Supporting, developing, and mentoring our homes Dementia Champions.
  • Delivering dementia-specific training sessions to staff.
  • Coaching and mentoring staff in dementia care, including hands-on support.
  • Promoting and supporting the delivery of meaningful, high-quality activities for people with dementia.
  • Monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on dementia care standards within our homes.
  • Providing guidance on individualised dementia care needs for residents.
  • Offering support and guidance to families, including delivering dementia awareness sessions.
  • Leading and supporting dementia-related initiatives and projects.

You will play a vital role in offering high-quality dementia care guidance and support across homes in your region. To support you in this role, we provide individual guidance, oversight and investment in your development within a consistent and supportive team environment.

We are seeking someone with a deep understanding and practical experience in person-centred dementia care, including managing stress and distress. You should have:

  • Strong leadership skills to guide and inspire others.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Confidence, determination, flexibility, and intuition in your approach.
  • The ability to work independently and effectively manage your workload.

The role involves supporting care homes in the following regions:

  • Warwickshire
  • Worcestershire
  • Nottinghamshire
  • South Yorkshire
  • Norfolk (shared responsibility for 3 homes)
