Overview
We’re now looking for a Linux Systems Engineer to join our team and help us realise our potential.
Purpose
Responsible for development and maintenance of complex virtual appliances, optimising their deployment processes, building automation processes for different virtualisation and cloud environments where possible, and the business critical backend processes that help manage these deployments once in production.
Key Responsibilities and Results Areas
The role sees the person having significant input into the design, delivery, and operational service of a key technology platform used by clients around the world. The day‑to‑day duties involve working as part of our technology team to build secure, stable, and performant systems using modern technologies such as Ubuntu Linux, Docker, Elastic.co products, and flexible configuration management tools.
They’ll work alongside an established software development and testing team, fitting into our smooth-running agile processes, and being fully-immersed in all angles of the service’s development.
The results of their work will be seen and recognised by all parts of the company, and they’ll take pride in knowing their expertise and diligence has had a real impact.
Key Attributes
- General Linux knowledge (and, ideally, some experience with Ubuntu)
- Bash scripting
- Docker
- Experience automating builds of Linux distributions
- Experience with Elasticsearch, Logstash, Beats
- Experience with Saltstack
- PHP / Laravel
- A desire to automate all the things
