Responsibilities
- Support children’s learning and development through play‑based activities and planned experiences.
- Promote children’s physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development.
- Help plan, prepare, and deliver engaging activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
- Build warm, caring, and professional relationships with children and their families.
- Observe, assess, and record children’s progress and achievements.
- Support children with their personal care needs, including toileting, handwashing, and mealtimes.
- Ensure children’s health, safety, and wellbeing are maintained at all times.
- Encourage positive behaviour and support children’s emotional development.
- Create an inclusive environment that values diversity and equality.
- Support children with additional needs and implement individual support plans where required.
- Assist with setting up and maintaining stimulating indoor and outdoor learning environments.
- Follow safeguarding procedures and immediately report any concerns regarding a child’s welfare.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with GDPR and nursery policies.
- Support risk assessments and help ensure the setting remains safe and secure.
- Work effectively as part of a team and contribute positively to staff meetings.
