An opportunity has arisen for a full-time (term-time only) Work Placement Assessor to join our highly ambitious and successful School of Health, Care and Education. The post-holder will work as part of our Education and Early Years team, taking responsibility for Industry & Work Placement visits and assessments on our Early Years provision for 16-19-year-olds. This includes the T Level in Early Years Education which involves preparing students for assessments, observing students in practice, and planning and executing professional discussions that allow students to meet the criteria competencies and successfully complete the qualification.
The successful candidate will be qualified in the Early Years field at Level 3 or above, have experience of working in an Early Years or Primary setting, and be highly motivated to ensure our students are presented with valuable opportunities to experience and succeed in the world of work.
The post-holder will need:
- To work effectively with all support functions across the college;
- Be confident in making calls to employers to secure placement visits;
- Hold employer meetings;
- Visit classes to speak with students and meet them on a one-to-one basis;
- Support students through the DBS process to resolve any difficulties.
They must value attention to detail and be able to produce work to the highest standards, meeting strict targets and deadlines. They will encourage students to reflect on practice, supporting them to develop their skills and understanding of Early Years and Education. They will assess and grade students through structured observations and feedback to support progress.
The successful applicant will be friendly and approachable, fully able to relate to and work alongside young people, and willing to undertake further training and development to uphold the core values of the college. You will also be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
