About The Role
This an exciting opportunity to join Runnymede Borough Council as we continue our positive work as a Control Centre Operator. As the Control Centre Operator, you will:
- Be responsible for monitoring public space CCTV cameras and responding to calls from the Police, including Radio/ICAD/ANPR alerts and \”Shop-Safe\” and \”Pub Watch\” alongside radio alerts for other clients.
- Monitor and respond to emergency careline calls from elderly or vulnerable service users.
- Act as a first point of contact for a number of local authorities out of hours and act in response to emergency situations varying in type and severity, ranging from housing maintenance matters and lost dogs, through to life and death and time critical emergency responses.
- Monitor and respond to building alarm activations, including fire, intruder and panic alarms, and act as a point of liaison for emergency responders including Police, Surrey County Council and Applied Resilience.
- Archive evidence and produce recordings of incidents and making formal statements of evidence for Police through the Police evidence collation systems, as well as gathering and submitting formal statements for internal and external data sharing, including with insurance companies, following all Council data sharing and retention policies and processes.

We are looking for a highly organised and detail oriented individual to join our team who can provide excellent service. We are looking for exceptional candidates with a range of skills including:

- Awareness of GDPR (Data Protection) & Human Rights Act
- Local Knowledge
- Competent in the use of different software packages (e.g. Outlook/Excel/Access/Bespoke software packages)

- Experience working with the public in either a customer services role or Control/contact centre environment
- Situational awareness – \’Streetwise’ – able to detect/recognise the abnormal
- Conscientious with complete reliability and integrity
