This is an exciting opportunity to join the Surrey Heath and Runnymede Borough Council Community Services Partnership as we continue our positive work supporting older and vulnerable residents to live independently within their own homes.
Working
Pattern: 13 hours per week: Friday 10:00 - 14:00, Saturday 09:30 - 14:00, Sunday 09:30 - 14:00, with weekend shift allowance (£20per shift for weekends and bank holidays worked)
As a Meals at Home Driver, you will play a vital role in delivering more than just hot meals.
The Meals at Home Driver is often a valued point of contact for residents, helping to promote wellbeing, identify concerns and ensure customers receive a safe, reliable and caring service.
- What you'll be doing
- Deliver hot meals to customers across the borough safely and on time.
- Undertake welfare checks during visits and report any concerns for customers' wellbeing.
- Build positive relationships with residents through friendly and professional customer service.
- Ensure meals are delivered in line with customers' dietary requirements and menu choices.
- Complete temperature monitoring and service records accurately.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and maintain vehicles to a high standard.
- Follow food safety, safeguarding and health and safety procedures.
- Support service resilience by covering different delivery routes when required.
- Assist other Community Services functions, including Community Transport and Day Centres, where trained.
- Contribute to the Council's response during civil emergencies and major incidents when required.

About You
We are looking for a caring, reliable and customer-focused individual to join our team who can provide a high-quality service to older and vulnerable residents across the borough.
- We are looking for exceptional candidates with a range of skills including:
- Full UK driving license with no current disqualification.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage delivery schedules effectively.
- Experience of working with members of the public in a customer-facing role.
- Understanding of safeguarding and the importance of reporting concerns relating to vulnerable adults.
- Ability to identify and respond appropriately to changes in a customer's wellbeing.
- Experience of accurately completing records using paper or electronic systems.
- Ability to use mobile devices for communication and service delivery purposes.
- Food Hygiene Level 2 qualification, or willingness to obtain this within an agreed timescale.
- A professional, empathetic and positive approach when supporting older and vulnerable residents.
