We’re putting together a talented team to build the #1 training platform for Runners
We help everyday runners become outstanding by providing world-class training, coaching and community for everyone, whether you’re improving your 5k time or training for your first marathon. To date we have built iOS, Android and Apple watch apps that help people achieve their goals by coaching them through the full journey and syncing to their favourite fitness devices.
We’re growing extremely fast and in November 2023 closed a new $6.5M funding round led by JamJar with participation from Eka Ventures, Venrex and Creator Ventures. In 2024, we were selected by Apple as one of three global finalists for the , reflecting the innovation and impact of what we’ve built. Our aim is to reach millions of subscribers in the next 5 years and be the go-to training platform for any runner. Who we’re looking for
We are looking for talented, creative and positive team players to join our highly-skilled Cross-Functional Engineering Team to help deliver new features for our iOS, Android and Apple watch applications and third-party integrations (Garmin, Strava, Coros, Fitbit Suuntu etc). You will work closely with our Engineers and CTO to help shape the future of Runna who will be there to support you all the way along this exciting journey.
As an Intern Software Engineer, your role will include:

Working alongside other Engineers to architect, build, test and deliver new features across the full stack

Work with Product Managers and Product Designers to identify the most suitable solution for the best customer experience

Be mentored by our Senior Engineers who will be on hand to help when you need help on technical matters

Contributing to the building and maintenance our developer tooling and CI/CD pipeline

We rotate the responsibility of releases among team members, giving each person the opportunity to lead the process and deploy changes to production

Become a ‘Ninja’ for a week! Like the release manager, we also rotate a role called ‘Ninja’. In this role, you will work closely with our customer service team, chatting with our users and helping them resolve technical issues., Below you can find a small reflection of our current tech stack:

How long is the internship for?
TLDR; you’re in control of how this internship can look. We’re ideally looking up to 12 weeks (if that’s during a placement, as part of your bootcamp course or over summer) but we are flexible. If you have holidays, then we’ll definitely work around them!
Software Engineer Internship Interview Process

Either currently studying for a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or have actively been building experience in different software courses and are looking to formalise your learning within a tech organisation

Programming experience outside of your degree/course (e.g., personal project, side hustle or internship)

Fast learner and comfortable working on technologies outside your comfort zone

Comfortable taking on complex problems, with a proven track record of efficiently solving them through critical thinking and innovative solutions

Understanding of the full software development life cycle
