We help everyday runners become outstanding by building an incredible app providing world‑class training, coaching and community for everyone, whether you’re improving your 5k time or training for your first marathon. We’re growing extremely fast! In November 2023 we closed a $6.5M funding round led by JamJar with participation from Eka Ventures, Venrex and Creator Ventures. In 2024, we were selected by Apple as one of three global finalists for the iPhone app of the year, reflecting the innovation and impact of what we’ve built & in 2025 we were acquired by Strava! Our ambition is huge: to become the go‑to global leading training platform for millions of runners everywhere. We’re growing with purpose and looking for people who want to build something meaningful with lasting impact. With the recent acquisition by Strava accelerating our journey, now is a really magical time to join.

The Growth Team at Runna is responsible for how runners discover, convert, and engage with our product. Operating at the intersection of product and marketing, the team drives scalable user growth while ensuring a seamless experience from first touch through to early retention. Growth is a core part of Runna’s success — from acquiring the right users, to optimising onboarding, conversion, and monetisation, through to improving activation and habit formation. The team uses rapid experimentation, data, and user insight to continuously improve performance across the funnel.

You’ll head up a cross‑functional team of 13 across three squads — Funnel, Monetisation, and Growth Product — spanning engineering, product, and design. Together, they own the end‑to‑end growth journey: acquisition, conversion, and early retention. Collaborating closely with Growth Marketing, Partnerships, and the wider Product team, you’ll play a key role in scaling Runna’s user base and turning new runners into long‑term customers.

Reporting directly to the Growth Director, you’ll take ownership of one of Runna’s four core product pillars (Growth, Train, App, Race Discovery). You’ll directly manage and mentor a talented product manager, while also leading product strategy and execution for the Growth Product squad yourself. This is a hands‑on leadership role, where you’ll balance coaching and developing others with driving high‑impact product work end‑to‑end.

  • Define the vision and drive measurable progress towards our North Star: Own the product strategy and roadmap for the Growth pillar, ensuring we’re consistently moving the needle on acquisition, conversion, and early retention in line with Runna’s overarching goals.
  • Develop and empower your team: Line manage, mentor, and develop a product manager, helping them grow in ownership and impact while building a high‑performing, scalable growth product function.
  • Raise the bar for product excellence: Drive high‑quality execution across the growth funnel through strong product craft, experimentation, and data‑informed decision making. Establish clear frameworks and lightweight processes to improve speed, learning, and impact.
  • Be the feedback loop: Connect insights from acquisition channels, user behaviour, and experiments back into product and company strategy. Remove blockers, maintain team focus, and ensure Growth work integrates seamlessly with Marketing, Partnerships, and the wider product ecosystem.

Questions You Might Be Answering:

  • How might we optimise onboarding and first‑time user experience (FTUE) to get more users to their “aha moment” faster and increase activation into a training plan?
  • How might we design early product experiences (weeks 1–3) that maximise motivation, habit formation, and retention across different runner segments?
  • How might we improve conversion across our paywalls, trials, and subscription flows, and determine which levers drive the highest long‑term value?
  • How might we build a high‑velocity experimentation engine across acquisition, onboarding, and monetisation that consistently drives measurable growth?
  • How might we increase the volume and quality of runners entering Runna through channels like Strava, while ensuring they land in the right experience?
  • How might we best serve the needs of Marketing and Partnerships while still driving meaningful, scalable impact within the product?

What You’ll Bring To The Team:

  • You have a track record of driving measurable impact in high‑performing consumer products — both as a hands‑on IC and as a product leader shaping strategy and outcomes.
  • You have experience owning growth outcomes end‑to‑end (acquisition, onboarding, conversion, retention), with clear accountability for metrics rather than discrete product areas.
  • You excel at ruthless prioritisation — synthesising data, experiments, and qualitative insights to identify what matters most, and building clear, compelling cases to focus teams on the highest‑impact opportunities.
  • You have strong product intuition and UX judgement, with the ability to design simple, high‑converting, and engaging user journeys.
  • You are highly data‑driven, experienced in running experiments, analysing results, and translating insights into action.
  • You have managed and mentored PMs, helping them grow in ownership, craft, and impact.
  • You work effectively cross‑functionally with marketing, partnerships, and engineering to deliver integrated growth initiatives.
  • You thrive in fast‑paced environments, balancing speed with quality while continuously learning and iterating.
  • You have a technical background or experience working closely with engineers on data‑heavy, experimentation‑led products.
  • You are London‑based, or able to work in person at our Vauxhall office on a hybrid model (ideally 3 days per week).

Bonus Points If You:

  • You have a strong interest in fitness apps and the fitness space.
  • You have worked in (react‑native) mobile application teams.
  • You have experience working on cross‑product or cross‑platform growth funnels (e.g. app ↔ web ↔ partner platforms like Strava), and understand how to optimise journeys end‑to‑end across multiple surfaces.

Compensation Overview & Benefits:

  • Flexible working – we typically spend 3 days a week together in our Vauxhall office.
  • 25 days holiday, plus...
