We're putting together a talented team to build the #1 training platform for Runners. We help everyday runners become outstanding by building an incredible app providing world-class training, coaching and community for everyone, whether you're improving your 5k time or training for your first marathon. We’re growing extremely fast! In November 2023 we closed a $6.5M funding round led by JamJar with participation from Eka Ventures, Venrex and Creator Ventures. In 2024, we were selected by Apple as one of three global finalists for the iPhone app of the year, reflecting the innovation and impact of what we’ve built. In 2025 we were acquired by Strava! Our ambition is huge: to become the go-to global leading training platform for millions of runners everywhere. We’re growing with purpose and looking for people who want to build something meaningful with lasting impact. With the recent acquisition by Strava accelerating our journey, now is a really magical time to join.

The team you'll join:

  • The Growth Marketing team owns how runners discover Runna, sign up, and stick with us for the long haul. We sit at the intersection of marketing, product, and data, and we drive user growth across paid, owned, and organic channels.
  • You'll lead a team of 15 across three functions:
    • Performance Marketing
    • Lifecycle Marketing
    • Organic Growth (SEO, website, ASO, CRO, and referrals)
  • Each function has a dedicated manager, so your focus is strategy, cross-functional leadership, and building team capability rather than channel execution. You'll partner closely with the Director of Growth Product Management, Partnerships, Ambassadors, and Brand Marketing.

What you'll be doing:

  • You'll be a key member of the Runna Senior Leadership Team, reporting to the Strava CMO with strong accountability to Runna's Founders and Managing Director. You'll directly manage and mentor the function managers and shape how growth marketing connects to company-level goals.
  • Specifically, you'll:
    • Set the multi-year Growth Marketing vision and build the unified engine that connects paid, lifecycle, and SEO/GEO into one compounding system.
    • Partner with Growth Product to own the full funnel, including server-side tracking, attribution, marketing automation, and the measurement architecture leadership relies on.
    • Make experimentation a core operating discipline across the team.
    • Co-lead cross-brand growth across Strava and Runna, converting Strava's global community into Runna subscribers through paid, owned, and organic surfaces.
    • Own Runna's international growth strategy beyond the UK, including market sequencing, channel mix, and the frameworks that let us scale efficiently.
    • Own the growth P&L, including paid media budget, efficiency targets, and the unit economics (CAC, ROAS, LTV:CAC) that keep growth sustainable.
    • Lead and develop the managers running each function, and act as an enterprise leader across Runna and Strava.

What you'll bring:

  • 10+ years in growth or performance marketing, with meaningful time leading teams and functions.
  • A track record of driving real growth outcomes in B2C consumer products, with the numbers to back it up.
  • Experience owning complex, multi-channel growth domains rather than a single channel.
  • Comfort partnering with product and engineering on technically complex, data-heavy challenges.
  • Strong senior stakeholder skills, knowing when to align, when to push back, and when to make the call.

You'll be successful here by:

  • Running toward the data, not away from it. You design tests with clear hypotheses, act on what you find, and cut what isn't working.
  • Delivering against targets even when the path isn't clear. Ambiguity energises you rather than slowing you down.
  • Thinking in funnels, not channels. You connect the dots others miss and fix the handoffs that quietly cost conversions.
  • Building lifetime value, not just installs. You care about what happens after the download as much as what drove it.
  • Staying ahead of where growth is going, whether that's AI-powered search, shifting attribution models, or the next acquisition lever.
  • Making the Strava relationship a growth engine, and turning that connection into a repeatable playbook.
  • Developing people who outgrow their roles, and modelling the accountability and curiosity you want in the team.

Bonus points if:

  • You've scaled growth marketing for subscription-based mobile apps.
  • You've worked across cross-product or cross-platform growth funnels (app, web, partner platforms like Strava).
  • You've led growth in a post-acquisition or high-growth integration environment.

Compensation & benefits:

We’re also committed to continually evolving our benefits to support you as we grow. Here is a brief overview of what we currently offer in the UK:

  • Flexible working – we typically spend 3 days a week together in our Vauxhall office.
  • 25 days holiday, plus bank holidays (which you can take whenever suits you).
  • Free Runna & Strava subscriptions for you and 3 of your friends.
  • Headspace membership.
  • Money every year to spend on gear, events and the gym!
  • Private health insurance with Bupa and workplace pension scheme.
  • Modern Health is a mental wellness platform and app that combines technology with professional support to improve mental well-being and reduce stress.
  • Carrot fertility support - this benefits provider can provide inclusive fertility, hormonal health, and family-forming benefits to our global employee population.

Please let us know if there’s anything we can do to better accommodate you throughout the interview process.
