Surveyor (Employer\’s Agent / Project Manager) We are seekinga highly driven and experienced Surveyor to join our Birmingham team.Our sectors of operation include residential, commercial, arts & leisure, and education – with residential developments being our primary area of operation.You will be joining a company led at the very top level by Chartered Surveyors, meaning professional development, knowledge sharing and best practice are at the very core of how we deliver our services. You will be provided with opportunities for leadership and progression as you advance your surveying career with us.We are looking for an individual who has the initiative to hit the ground running. The work pace is fast and understanding our objective to be \’the consultant of choice\’ is key to how we deliver an exceptional service.Requirements 3-5 years\’ experience in delivering the Employer\’s Agent role (Desirable)Confidence at client meetingsStrong ambitions to develop their technical skillsA team player approach and ability to work closely with clients and colleaguesCommitment to the RICS and completing the APC, if not already achievedGood communication and workload management skillsExcellent problem-solving abilitiesA methodical approach to tasksExperience in JCT contracts and Development Agreements (Desirable)Strong technical knowledge of constructionA full, clean driving licence (Desirable)Job Summary No two days will be the same for our Surveyors, but your general responsibilities will include:Providing Employer\’s Agent and Contract Administration services across a variety of projects from inception to completionProviding pre-contract services, including chairing design team meetings and managing the pre-construction phasePreparing, regulating, and analysing costs for tenders and contractsExperience in various forms of procurement and contracts to be able to advise clientsAdministering JCT construction contracts and development agreements, including chairing meetingsValuing work completed on-site and certifying paymentsAssessing cost variationsPreparing cost reports and cash flowsPreparing and agreeing final accountsAssessing and agreeing extension of time and loss and expense claimsMentoring our Assistant Surveyors in delivering our scope of services and achieving their own professional career goalsYou will be joining an established and friendly team at either office, with surveying experience ranging from Director and junior level.
