Test Lead – Automation, Cypress, Playwright, QA Testing

An experiencedTest Lead with a strong background in JavaScript-based testing frameworks and tools, specifically Playwright and Cypress, is required to join a Consultancy to work on a Government end-client, on a contract basis.

As a Test Lead, you will take ownership of the end-to-end testing process, lead a team of skilled QA professionals, and drive the implementation of robust automation frameworks to ensure the delivery of high-quality software.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and DevOps engineers, to establish efficient and scalable testing practices. Your leadership and technical expertise will play a key role in achieving seamless product releases and maintaining our commitment to excellence.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven experience as a Test Lead (Automation)
• Skills in JavaScript testing, with experience in modern testing frameworks like Playwright and Cypress.
• Solid understanding of automation best practices and patterns (e.g., Page Object Model).
• Experience with version control systems like Git.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
• Previous Government of Public Sector experience is advantageous

Key Responsibilities

• Lead QA Strategy : Define and implement a comprehensive testing strategy, including manual and automated testing approaches.
• Automation Framework Development : Design, build, and maintain robust automation frameworks using JavaScript, Playwright, and Cypress.
• Team Leadership : Manage and mentor a team of QA engineers, providing technical guidance and ensuring the team meets project timelines and quality standards.
• Test Planning : Collaborate with stakeholders to define test objectives, write detailed test plans, and create test cases to cover all functional, integration, and regression scenarios.
