We are recruiting with a main contractor for a Senior Engineer to work on a major roads and structures project in Kent. The project has just broken ground with 18 months of construction ahead, with opportunities for further phases of work. The contractor is renowned for their culture, excellence in delivery, and development of people, with a strong track record and pipeline across the South East.
The project comprises a new 500m carriageway with a 250-metre viaduct spanning a river, floodplain, and railway line; the structure will feature five spans. The role of the Senior Engineer will be to work across multiple packages of the project, bridging the gap between the management team and the engineering team on the ground. It is essential you have experience of working on heavy civils projects. Maintenance of highways and structures will not be considered.
Senior Engineer Duties:- Day-to-day leadership of a team of five engineers, acting as the primary point of contact between the site engineering team and the project management team.
- Supporting the Project Manager to ensure the project meets overall quality and environmental specifications.
- Engage and manage different subcontractors whilst navigating the complexities of working across the river and rail line, with challenging ground conditions and constrained space.
- Attending weekly programme meetings, cascading any change or updates to the engineering team.
