We’re recruiting a Senior Buyer for Havant Thicket Reservoir. It is the first large-scale reservoir built in the UK since the 1980s, delivering long-term water resilience while protecting some of the country’s rarest chalk streams. Due for completion in 2029, the project offers secure, local, long-term work on a nationally significant scheme.
The Senior Buyer will be project-based at Havant Thicket Reservoir, supporting the procurement team across the main construction works.
You’ll work as part of a collaborative joint venture, the role will focus on managing supplier performance, cost control and procurement strategy, while building strong, long-term relationships with specialist suppliers across the heavy civil engineering and marine sector.

Senior Buyer Duties:
- Sourcing new and alternative suppliers to improve value and supply resilience
- Negotiating pricing and commercial terms with suppliers
- Producing cost, value and whole-life cost reports for senior management
- Managing and improving supplier performance
- Supporting the Procurement Manager in embedding sustainable procurement practices
- Assisting with the day-to-day operation of the procurement function, deputising when required
- Attending contract handover meetings to ensure procurement alignment
- Supporting and mentoring junior members of the buying team
