We’re looking for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join the Havant Thicket Reservoir Project in Hampshire, circa £300m. The project is the first of its kind in 30 years, building a new reservoir covering 160 hectares, its deepest point reaching 18 meters at full capacity and a perimeter of almost 5km. The scale of the work is a sight to behold over the 5+ year construction programme. The role is with one of the Joint Venture partners and comprises of managing a team and ensuring the work is being delivered within the means of the contract while managing risks, budgets and timelines. This senior role requires strong leadership, commercial acumen, and industry expertise. There is flexibility to work from home on Monday and Friday.

Managing Quantity Surveyor Duties:

  • Manage and mentor a team of quantity surveyors, fostering development and ensuring high performance.
  • Develop and monitor project budgets, cost estimates, and cash flow forecasts. Identify and address budget deviations promptly.
  • Lead contract negotiations and administration, ensuring compliance with terms and resolving disputes efficiently.
  • Manage supplier and subcontractor selection, agreements, and performance to ensure quality, safety, and value for money.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, providing proactive solutions to minimise delays and cost overruns.
  • Provide regular financial reports and updates to senior management, offering insights and recommendations to maintain project alignment.
  • Promote cost-effective design and construction methods without compromising quality or client requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring expectations are met and delivering exceptional service throughout project lifecycles.
