We are working with a successful and well-respected civil engineering design & build contractor, currently recruiting for a Senior Civil Design Engineer to join their regional office in Maidstone. With a strong forward order book, they deliver infrastructure, marine, and environmental projects for local authorities, private clients, the Environment Agency, and water companies.

This is a great opportunity to join a business that values professional development and a supportive work–life balance, offering hybrid working with an expectation of 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home each week.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Produce, review and check design calculations, drawings, reports, and designer's risk registers, ensuring designs are safe, buildable, economical and appropriate for site conditions.
  • Lead the development, delivery and technical assurance of temporary and permanent works designs from initial brief through to issued construction information, ensuring compliance with BS 5975, Eurocodes, and relevant UK Health & Safety legislation.
  • Manage multiple concurrent design tasks, including prioritisation, programme alignment, coordination with project teams and communication of design requirements to stakeholders.
  • Act as the primary interface between designers, project teams, clients, and supply‐chain specialists to ensure coordination.
