Run for Charity partners with over 2,000 UK-based charities to help fill race and challenge event entries. With access to more than 9000 events, including iconic ones such as the London Landmarks Half Marathon and Royal Parks Half Marathon, they provide a unique platform for charities to expand their audiences. By allowing charities to purchase individual event places, Run for Charity prevents unfilled entries and maximises fundraising opportunities. The platform attracts over 60,000 monthly searches, connecting participants with meaningful causes.

We are looking for a highly motivated, tenacious and personable Business Development Executive to join our team. This role will be the first point of contact for prospective charity partners, representing our brand and opening doors by booking high quality meetings for our sales team.

Core Responsibilities
  • Multi-Channel Outreach: Execute a high volume of daily touchpoints across cold calling, personalised emailing, and LinkedIn networking.
  • Targeted Research: Identify key decision-makers within charities to understand their specific challenges and goals.
  • Appointment Setting: Successfully convert conversations into qualified meetings booked directly into the sales team’s diaries.
  • CRM Management: Maintain meticulous records of all interactions, ensuring the data is accurate, up to date and follow-ups are never missed.
  • Brand Ambassadorship: Represent Run for Charity with professional energy, clearly articulating how our membership helps charities raise more while reducing risk.
  • Market Insights: Identify and share insights from charity conversations to help improve internal processes and product development.
  • Performance: Consistently meet or exceed monthly and quarterly KPIs and objectives as set by management.
Skills & Experience
  • Excellent Communicator: You are genuinely comfortable on the phone. You can navigate gatekeepers and handle "no" whilst maintaining a positive, persistent attitude.
  • Exceptional Writing: You can craft LinkedIn messages and emails that feel personal.
  • Charity Fluency: You understand (or are eager to learn) the unique landscape of the charity sector and the challenges they face.
  • Self-Starter: You are highly organised, self-motivated and able to structure your own workload - managing your diary effectively to maximise outreach, meetings and follow-ups.
  • Tech Savvy: Familiarity with CRM tools (HubSpot), Slack, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and Google Workspace. This is helpful but not essential.
  • Attitude: Positive, solutions-focused attitude with a genuine interest in helping charities succeed.
