Hours of work: 40 hrs, 5-day pattern
Rad Pro Technical Instructor
Reporting to the Engineering and Technical Training Group Head, based at Hinkley Point C, with a hybrid working arrangement supported. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Undertaking instructor training.
- Developing and delivering radiological protection and technical training material.
- Delivering training in classroom and plant simulator environments, and providing coaching and mentoring to expedite learning.
- Acting as course coordinator for responsible training areas.
- Leading and delivering training to groups from 1 to 20 people, depending on the subject and environment.
- Acting as the subject matter expert in your area, demonstrating a deep understanding of relevant company standards, and representing your areas within the company.
- Ensuring company values, safety, and OpEx are embedded throughout training, material, and lesson plans.
- Communicating with line managers to develop staff competence.
- Maintaining relationships with Nuclear Operations and EPR stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts for material development.
- Communicating with external contractors for training support if required.
- Contributing to the business plan of NSA and NNB to support organizational goals.
Who you are…
Your background may include some of the following:
- HNC or higher qualification in a relevant technical subject.
- Experience in radiological protection (Health Physics).
- Experience in power generation preferred; relevant experience in related industries considered.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience in customer and stakeholder relations.
- Ability to apply current knowledge and adapt to latest technology.
- Effective team functioning with mentoring and influencing skills.
- Ability to identify, analyze, and solve technical problems.
- Mobility to deliver training away from HPC location as required.
- Knowledge of training processes and delivering high-quality technical and practical training.
- Familiarity with modern learning methods and media, and experience integrating these into training development and delivery.
- Recognized teaching/training qualification (desirable).
- Good understanding of nuclear power plant systems and operations (desirable).
