Role Responsibilities:
- Providing assurance through radiation monitoring.
- Assisting the Radiation Protection Supervisor in managing radiation protection issues across the submarine manufacturing facility and barriers.
- Conducting audits on facilities such as the radiography enclosure.
- Inspecting equipment like pumps and grinders to ensure they are free from contamination.
- Operating the waste management plant.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Good understanding of radiation protection principles, techniques, and legislation.
- Minimum of 3 GCSEs at Grade C or above, including Maths and a STEM subject (preferably Physics).
- City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Radiation Protection.
- Full UK Driving License.
- Practical experience in nuclear operations, such as handling high activity sealed sources, contamination, or radiation monitoring.
- Familiarity with submarines, nuclear industry, or industrial radiography.
Security Clearance: All candidates must be eligible to obtain SC Clearance.
