We have a current opportunity for a Senior Financial Processing Officer on a temporary basis. The position will be based in Abingdon. For further information about this position please apply. Senior Financial Processes Officer The Senior Financial Processes Officer will carry out and be responsible for a range of tasks within the Authority\’s Financial Processes function. This role includes producing reports showing key data about the processes function as well as processing purchase invoices, sales invoices & travel and subsistence claims and maintaining the accuracy of the supplier and customer database. The role includes resolving queries and providing support and guidance to internal and external customers about the Authority\’s processes function. Accountabilities: ● Prepare financial reports on key metrics for senior management meetings/committees and for publication on UKAEA\’s website for review by the Financial Processes Manager. ● Provision of training, guidance and support to UKAEA employees in relation to Unit 4 Travel & Subsistence, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable function, including answering queries raised via Marval tickets. ● Testing the finance system for updates and upgrades relevant to processes function including liaising directly with System Admin. ● Assist the Financial Processes Manager with secondee allowance reconciliations for UKAEA staff seconded to other organisations – calculation, obtaining approval, queries and liaison with HR/payroll. ● Processing incoming supplier invoices including chasing & resolving queries and liaising with Financial Accounts to ensure that the relevant VAT codes are applied. ● Carrying out steps in supplier setup and amendment processes and verifying supplier bank details on sundry requisitions. ● Raising and processing sales invoices including ensuring that the correct VAT and product codes are used. ● Carrying out the appropriate steps in setting up new customers on the finance system ● Processing travel & subsistence claims, including checks for VAT coding and compliance with UKAEA\’s travel and subsistence policy and HMRC tax rules. ● Processing Purchase Card transactions and resolving queries ● Provide documentation and analysis for External and Internal Audits as required ● Provide documentation and analysis for a range of monthly, quarterly and annual financial accounts tasks, including for UKAEA\’s interim and year end Accounts. Specific Qualifications/Experience: Essential ● Strong time management skills including the ability to prioritise the workload ● Good written and oral communication skills ● Attention to detail ● Ability to work as a team player & under their own initiative ● Intermediate Excel (basic formulas, vlookups, pivot tables etc.) ● Flexibility Desirable ● Experience with using an accounting ERP system (Oracle, SAP, U4BW) including processing of supplier invoices ● Additional experience with sales invoicing or travel & subsistence processing Additional Duties: To undertake other ad hoc duties and tasks as required by the role.
