Rullion is recruiting in rail transport solutions, and we are expanding our Engineering Services Team. We have fantastic opportunities for Mechanical Rolling Stock Engineers to join our team as Rolling Stock Engineers - Bogie Systems. This role will focus on railway bogies and underframe equipment, supporting maintenance, overhaul, and performance improvements. As part of this team, you will provide expert-level engineering support for a variety of train systems, helping to enhance safety, reliability, and efficiency. This is an office-based engineering support role at our Bogie Service Centre in Lincoln, UK.

Your Role & Responsibilities

  • Investigate and resolve engineering issues across multiple train fleets.
  • Lead investigations into safety-related defects and technical incidents.
  • Develop modifications and maintenance optimization strategies.
  • Support component overhaul, re-engineering, and repair processes.
  • Produce engineering specifications, risk assessments, and business cases.
  • Conduct on-site engineering support for key suppliers.
  • Ensure safety, compliance, and performance standards are met.

What You Need to Succeed

Essential:

  • Proven experience in rolling stock maintenance, planning, and IT systems.
  • Strong knowledge of railway bogies and rolling stock maintenance techniques.
  • Hands-on experience in rail vehicle maintenance and repair.
  • Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent industry experience.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and IT skills.

Preferred:

  • Chartered Engineer status (or working towards it).
  • Experience in reverse engineering and component analysis.
