We have a current opportunity for a Logistics Lead on an inside IR35 contract basis. The position will be based in Suffolk. For further information about this position, please apply.

The Sizewell C Project requires an experienced Logistics Lead to drive the delivery of logistics for the Civil Works programme, working in collaboration with the Works Alliance (CWA) and Site Operation teams.

This role leads the Logistics function for the project, which supports the Delivery Teams.

The Logistics Team has two primary strands:

  1. The facilities, processes, and arrangements needed to support construction within the MCA.
  2. The systemisation of working arrangements to create the most economical ways of constructing the works.

Job Purpose

The main responsibilities will include:

  • Defining the interface between the Sizewell Site Delivery team and the CWA, ensuring clarity on roles and responsibilities, including the handover arrangements for ACA & TCA.
  • Understanding the project requirements to define and establish the support provided by the Logistics team.
  • Providing expertise in logistics management, drawing from industry best practices to optimise construction, with insights from HPC and HS2 projects.
  • Provision of:
  • Labour
  • Plant
  • Site-wide Materials and Consumables
  • Accommodation
  • Security
  • Transportation of materials and consumables
  • Site-wide Emergency Arrangements
  • Off-site storage
  • Coordination with the Sizewell Site Delivery team on:
    • Transport arrangements for personnel
    • Office and operational accommodation within the site
    • Security arrangements
  • Managing traffic arrangements around the project.
  • Communicating the capabilities of the Logistics function within the project team.
  • Creating the budget for the Logistics Function, including staffing, premises, services, and cost allocation methodologies.
  • Facilitating collaboration between the Alliance and site delivery teams, leading the interface management.
  • Developing logistics delivery plans and strategies, outlining how interfaces are managed.
  • Minimum of 5 years of logistics experience in civils projects, with overall civils experience of at least 10 years.
  • Building relationships and embedding logistics practices within the project.
