Finance Manager – 9-Month Fixed-Term Contract (FTC)
Location: Dublin, Ireland
Reporting to: Financial Controller
Salary: 500 euros per day
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager to join a leading motor finance business in Ireland on a 9-month fixed-term contract. This role is part of a dedicated finance team and will focus on enhancing financial control and governance processes, supporting audit and statutory account delivery, and implementing sustainable improvements across the function.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Control
- Review existing financial control processes and recommend improvements.
- Implement enhanced balance sheet reconciliations and develop automated reconciliation processes.
- Create controls for risk identification, including trend analysis.
- Improve financial governance, including bank authorisation and review processes.
- Document new and existing processes in line with group policy.
- Ensure thorough handover of new processes to the business-as-usual (BAU) team.
- Maintain compliance with accounting policies and prepare supporting documentation for material items.
Reporting & Audit
- Act as a key contact for external auditors and internal teams.
- Prepare statutory accounts and supporting documentation.
- Provide substantiating information for financial statements and liaise with auditors.
Operational Support
- Maintain a progress tracker and present updates to senior stakeholders.
- Review operational processes linked to financial controls and suggest improvements.
- Support system and automation tool implementation (e.g., Alteryx).
- Assess end-to-end process changes and their impact on regulatory and year-end reporting.
People & Collaboration
- Build strong working relationships with finance and business teams.
- Support ad-hoc finance and business initiatives as required.
Risk & Compliance
- Ensure governance and compliance standards are met.
- Manage risk logs and follow up on outstanding actions.
- Conduct root cause analysis of risk events and collaborate with operations to prevent recurrence.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification.
- Experience preparing statutory accounts.
- Strong background in financial control.
Desirable
- Experience with Alteryx and SAP.
