Hours: 37.5 hours per week (8:00am to 4:00pm with 30 minutes unpaid lunch break), term-time only plus INSET days

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly effective individual to become our Sixth Form Learning Mentor. This role would be ideally suited to a recent graduate who is looking to enter the teaching profession and/or work in education.
This role will include working with post-16 students to support their learning and maximise their chance of success at university and beyond including helping them develop both their academic and wider skills.
The successful applicant will:
- act as a role model and mentor for learners, implementing and monitoring strategies to raise aspirations and attainment in students and encourage progression to higher education and beyond;
- have knowledge of current career options for students and first-hand knowledge of the UCAS application process;
- plan and implement various learning strategies to help support students in achieving their potential;
- develop good relationships with all students by establishing a positive, professional presence within the Sixth Form and responding appropriately to individual needs;
- encourage the development of academic skills.
Ruislip High School is an outstanding, oversubscribed, 11-18, mixed comprehensive school with over one thousand students. We obtain excellent results. In the summer of 2025, 59% of students attained a grade 5 or above in English and Maths with 82% attaining at least a grade 4 in both subjects; at A Level, 53% of all grades were A* to B, with the majority of Year 13 students securing places at their first choice of destination.
