About Rugiet
Rugiet is one of the fastest-growing direct-to-consumer telemedicine companies in the US, scaling dramatically by revolutionizing men's health through bespoke compounded medications and a premium digital patient experience. We are now taking that model international, starting with the United Kingdom. The UK is our first and most important international market β and we are looking for the person who will build it.
The Mission
Own the end-to-end launch of Rugiet in the United Kingdom. You will be Rugiet's first employee on the ground in the UK, responsible for taking the company from zero to a fully operational, compliant, and commercially viable DTC health business. This means navigating the MHRA regulatory framework, standing up pharmacy and dispensing partnerships, building the local operational infrastructure, coordinating closely with the US team, and ultimately launching Rugiet's full product suite to UK patients. You are not here to produce a market entry report. You are here to open the doors, turn on the lights, and start serving patients.
This Role is NOT for You If:
- You are primarily a strategist β we need someone who executes, not someone who advises
- You have never navigated UK medicines regulation, pharmacy law, or MHRA requirements
- You are not comfortable being the only Rugiet employee in the country for an extended period
- You need a fully built playbook before you can operate β the playbook is yours to write
- You have never owned a P&L or been directly accountable for a launch outcome
What You Own
Regulatory & Compliance
- Own Rugiet's UK regulatory strategy and execution β navigating MHRA requirements for prescribing, dispensing, and advertising prescription medicines in a DTC context
- Manage relationships with regulatory consultants, legal counsel, and any required third-party compliance partners
- Ensure all patient-facing communications, clinical protocols, and advertising materials comply with MHRA, ASA, and CQC guidelines
- Stay ahead of evolving UK telehealth and online prescribing regulations and adapt the business model accordingly
- Coordinate with Rugiet's US Legal and Clinical teams to ensure consistency between US and UK standards where applicable
Pharmacy & Dispensing Partnerships
- Identify, evaluate, and contract with UK-registered dispensing pharmacy partners capable of fulfilling Rugiet's compounded and licensed product needs at scale
- Manage ongoing pharmacy partner relationships β quality standards, SLAs, fulfillment performance, and patient experience consistency
- Coordinate with Rugiet's US compounding pharmacy network to assess UK-specific formulation, licensing, and importation requirements
- Build contingency and redundancy into the pharmacy supply chain from day one
Clinical & Prescribing Infrastructure
- Stand up Rugiet's UK prescribing model β working with GMC-registered prescribers, independent prescribing networks, or CQC-registered telehealth platforms as appropriate
- Ensure clinical protocols are adapted for the UK patient population and NHS context
- Partner with Rugiet's US Chief Medical Officer and Clinical team to maintain clinical excellence standards across markets
Operations & Technology
- Coordinate with Rugiet's US Product and Engineering teams to adapt the digital patient experience, checkout, and clinical intake flows for UK compliance (e.g., UK address formats, NHS number optional fields, UK data protection / UK GDPR)
- Stand up local customer support capabilities, whether through UK-based hires or adapted US support workflows
- Manage third-party logistics, fulfillment, and returns infrastructure for UK operations
- Own UK data privacy compliance in partnership with Legal, including UK GDPR and ICO registration requirements
Commercial Launch & Growth
- Own Rugiet's UK go-to-market plan β product launch sequencing, pricing strategy, and channel mix across paid digital, SEO, and PR
- Work with Rugiet's US Growth and Marketing teams to adapt creative, copy, and paid media for UK audiences and advertising regulations
- Build and own the UK P&L β forecasting, budget management, and performance reporting to Rugiet's US leadership
- Identify and develop UK-specific partnership and distribution opportunities (e.g., media, influencer, or corporate wellness channels)
US Team Coordination
- Serve as the primary bridge between Rugiet's UK operations and US headquarters β aligning on priorities, surfacing blockers, and ensuring the UK launch is resourced and supported appropriately
- Participate in regular leadership reporting and cross-functional syncs with the US team
- Translate US product, clinical, and operational capabilities into UK-viable solutions β knowing when to adapt and when to build from scratch
What You Bring
Required
- 8+ years of operating experience, with meaningful time spent launching or scaling a regulated health, pharma, or consumer health business in the UK
- Deep working knowledge of MHRA regulations for prescription medicines, online prescribing, and advertising β you have navigated this framework before, not just studied it
- Established relationships with UK dispensing pharmacies, independent prescribing networks, or CQC-registered telehealth platforms
- Direct P&L ownership experience β you have been accountable for a revenue number and a cost base, not just contributed to one
- Proven track record of building something from scratch in the UK market β a new brand, a new channel, or a new market entry
- Strong cross-functional operating instincts β you can drive outcomes across teams you don't directly manage, including a US-based headquarters 5 hours behind you
- Comfort with UK data protection law (UK GDPR, ICO), ASA advertising standards for healthcare, and CQC registration requirements for online clinical services
- High degree of self-sufficiency β you are energized by ambiguity, not slowed by it, and you know how to prioritize when everything feels urgent
- Excellent communication skills β written and verbal β for both external stakeholders (regulators, pharmacy partners, clinical advisors) and internal US leadership
Bonus Points
- Experience in men's health, sexual health, or adjacent consumer health categories in the UK
- Prior experience launching a US DTC health brand into the UK or EU
- Existing relationships with UK private healthcare media, influencers, or corporate wellness channels
- Familiarity with the competitive UK telehealth landscape: MANUAL, Numan, Treated, Zava, Superdrug Online Doctor
- Experience working with UK-based compounding or specials pharmacies
- Knowledge of NHS and private prescribing dynamics in the UK context
30 / 60 / 90 Day Plan
- Deep dive on UK regulatory requirements for each product line
- Map the pharmacy and prescribing partnership landscape
- Audit what the US tech stack and ops model needs to launch in UK
- Deliver a launch readiness assessment and sequencing plan to leadership | Execute pharmacy and prescribing partner agreements
- Engage regulatory counsel and submit any required MHRA notifications
- Brief US Product and Engineering on UK-specific platform requirements
- Lock go-to-market plan, pricing, and channel strategy for first product | First UK product live with paying patients
- UK P&L and reporting cadence established
- Patient support and fulfillment workflows operational
- Roadmap for expanding to full Rugiet product suite in UK
