We're hiring for someone who likes understanding how things work. Hands-on broadcast tech, full training provided. Chalgrove, Oxfordshire | £24–26k.
Are you the person who takes things apart to see how they tick? Good with kit, comfortable around technology, happiest solving a practical problem? This one's for you.
Rugged Earth has supplied EVS and broadcast equipment — and the UK's most experienced sports VR analysis operators — since 2006. Our equipment features in live sports broadcasts throughout the season, and it all has to be prepped, tested and working flawlessly before it leaves the workshop. That's where you come in.
As our Junior Technician / Driver, you'll learn to set up, test, fault-find and maintain a wide range of professional broadcast equipment — getting it job-ready for live sports analysis and for hire. You'll also deliver and collect kit from client sites and represent us directly with clients, so a confident, professional manner matters too. It's a genuinely technical, hands-on role and a rare foot in the door of an industry that's hard to break into.
You don't need broadcast or formal IT experience — we'll train you fully on our equipment. What we're looking for is a technical mindset: someone methodical, practical and genuinely interested in the technology, who enjoys getting things working and takes pride in attention to detail. A clean, full UK driving licence is essential.
You'll get £24–26k to start, a health cash plan, company pension, company laptop, 28 days' holiday, and the chance to build real technical skills in live sports broadcasting within a busy, friendly team.
If that sounds like you — or someone you know who's technically minded and looking for a way in — get in touch. Send a CV and a short note on why you'd be a good fit.
