We are seeking a motivated Web Development Intern to join our dynamic team. This paid internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in software development, web design, and front-end and back-end technologies. Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and maintaining responsive websites and web applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks such as React or Angular.
- Support back-end development tasks using technologies like Django, ASP.NET, or Ruby on Rails.
- Collaborate on integrating APIs and web services (REST, SOAP, GraphQL) for seamless data exchange.
- Participate in wireframing and UI/UX design activities to improve user experience and interface consistency.
- Contribute to database management and optimisation using MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or SQL Server.
- Aid in deploying applications using Docker containers and cloud services such as AWS or Azure.
- Assist with version control systems including Git and GitHub, ensuring code quality through code reviews and unit testing.
- Support automation processes with Jenkins or Ansible for continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
- Engage in software development best practices following SDLC methodologies and system architecture planning.
- Contribute to documentation of technical specifications and user guides.
Skills
- Proficiency in front-end technologies including HTML5, CSS3 (with SCSS), JavaScript (TypeScript), Bootstrap, AJAX, jQuery, React Native or Redux for state management.
- Experience with back-end frameworks such as Django, ASP.NET (.NET), Ruby on Rails or MVC architecture.
- Familiarity with databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB or SQLite; understanding of database optimisation techniques.
- Knowledge of containerisation tools like Docker; cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is advantageous.
- Experience using version control systems like Git (GitHub) or SVN; familiarity with Jenkins or similar CI/CD tools is desirable.
- Understanding of web services including RESTful APIs, SOAP, GraphQL; experience with API integration is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of web design principles focusing on responsive web design and SEO best practices.
- Familiarity with software development tools such as Visual Studio, Jira, Trello; experience with Linux environments is a plus.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently; excellent communication skills are essential.
