Fast growing new Independent Hospital seeks additional vet, with management/partnership opportunities. Are you an experienced and driven vet looking for something more than the average clinical role? Do you want to be part of shaping a brand-new, independent veterinary hospital, where your input truly matters, and your professional growth is genuinely supported?

The Rugby Vet Hospital opened on March 26 and already needs to add to their brilliant team of 19 to meet the rapidly expanding client base. Positioned as an upscaled GP practice taking referrals for surgery, CT, endoscopy, medicine, exotics and 24 hour affordable quality care, set in a stunning tranquil canalside location on the outskirts of Rugby.

The ideal candidate will be a forward-thinking vet who either holds a postgraduate certificate, is working towards one or is keen to pursue a certificate to join us early in our exciting journey. We have an outstanding core team of highly skilled, experienced clinicians and nurses, and we welcome individuals keen to shape the hospital’s clinical direction.

We offer clear pathways to clinical leadership if this is your ambition, and successful candidates will have the opportunity to accrue partnership shares in return for their contribution to practice growth. As we grow, future positions will become available for vets at all stages of their careers. This is a rare opportunity to help shape the culture, set the standards, and build something exceptional alongside a supportive leadership team that values and respects its vets.

Why This Role is Different

Our hospital is set up to be one that works for our people, not just the business. From your working environment to your rota, your wellbeing is a top priority. You’ll have your say on protocols, patient care pathways, and the day-to-day running of the clinic. We want you to thrive in your role and develop your skills, with clear pathways to clinical leadership and even potential future partnership opportunities. And because we believe our success is driven by the contributions of the whole team, you’ll benefit from a profit share scheme that recognises your impact.

Our set up is designed to achieve both clinical excellence and team well-being, with spacious prep and theatre areas, a dedicated imaging suite, and comfortable staff areas. We are equipped to deliver the highest standards of patient care, diagnostics and surgery 24 hours a day with a dedicated OOH team. We offer everything you’d expect from a referral-level facility, including a CT scanner, DR X-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, laparoscopy, an in-house Idexx lab, and more. You’ll be working alongside experienced RVNs and fellow vets who are committed to delivering the very best care to patients and clients alike.

A Fantastic Client Base Awaits

Our hospital is the only independent SA practice in the area, and the only practice offering 24/7 care and advanced facilities. We have attracted a large client base from the start, and already see a diverse caseload. No two days are the same, you’ll be part of something with real momentum.

What We’re Looking For

A team player, who is committed to providing excellent care, in an environment that puts the patient before the business. This is a unique opportunity for certificate holders, those actively working towards one or keen to start a certificate, to take on a meaningful role in a growing, progressive environment. We’re open to full-time, part-time, and flexible working arrangements, and as the practice evolves, so will your opportunities, with clear pathways into advanced clinical and leadership roles.

About You

  • A veterinary surgeon with a strong foundation in general practice, keen to develop their area of interest in a supportive environment, registered with the RCVS.
  • A certificate holder, or someone who is currently working towards or keen to start a postgraduate certificate, with a genuine commitment to clinical excellence and ongoing development.
  • Confident in managing both medical and surgical cases independently, and able to support junior colleagues when needed.
  • Passionate about upholding high clinical standards, collaborating with a like-minded team, and delivering outstanding patient and client care.
  • Excited by the opportunity to be part of something new, bringing your ideas, initiative, and leadership to help shape the future of an exceptional, independent hospital.

What We’re Offering:

  • Salary up to £80,000 (FTE), depending on experience.
  • Relocation package potentially available for the right candidate.
  • Flexible working patterns – part-time, full-time, and bespoke rotas considered, with no out-of-hours for day roles.
  • Profit share scheme, because everyone contributes to our success.
  • Certificate support is fully funded with dedicated CPD budgets.
  • Starting at 28 days holiday, with an extra day off for your birthday.
  • Professional fees covered (RCVS, VDS, BVA, and relevant specialist memberships).
  • Wellbeing prioritised, including dedicated lunch breaks, generous consult times, and a dedicated staff rest area.
  • Clear development pathways, with opportunities to progress into leadership or advanced clinical roles as the practice grows.
  • A voice in how the practice operates – from protocols to patient care, your opinion counts.
