Fast growing new Independent Hospital seeks an amazing RVN/ Head Nurse with management/partnership opportunities. Are you a passionate RVN looking for something more than the average clinical role? Do you want to be part of shaping a brand-new, independent veterinary hospital from the ground up – a place where your input truly matters, and your professional growth is genuinely supported?
Rugby Vet Hospital opened on March 26 and already needs to add to their brilliant team of 19 to meet the rapidly expanding client base. Set in a stunning tranquil canalside location on the outskirts of Rugby, our hospital is positioned as an upscaled GP practice taking referrals for surgery, CT, endoscopy, medicine, exotics and 24 hour affordable quality care.
The ideal candidate will be a forward‑thinking RVN, with organisational/hospital caseload experience. We have an outstanding core team of highly skilled, experienced clinicians and nurses, and we welcome individuals keen to shape the hospital’s direction. We offer clear pathways to leadership, and successful candidates will have the opportunity to accrue partnership shares in return for their contribution to practice growth.
As we grow, future positions will become available for nurses at all stages of their careers. This is a rare opportunity to help shape the culture, set the standards, and build something exceptional alongside a supportive leadership team that values and respects its team.
Why This Role is Different
Our hospital is set up to be one that works for our people, not just the business. From your working environment to your rota, your wellbeing is a top priority. You’ll have your say on protocols, patient care pathways, and the day‑to‑day running of the clinic. We want you to thrive in your role and develop your skills, with clear pathways to clinical leadership and even potential future partnership opportunities.
Because we believe our success is driven by the contributions of the whole team, you’ll benefit from a profit share scheme that recognises your impact. Our set up is designed to achieve both clinical excellence and team well‑being, with spacious prep and theatre areas, a dedicated imaging suite, and comfortable staff areas.
We are equipped to deliver the highest standards of patient care, diagnostics and surgery 24 hours a day with a dedicated OOH team. We offer everything you’d expect from a referral‑level facility, including a CT scanner, DR X‑ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, laparoscopy, an in‑house Idexx lab, and more.
You’ll be working alongside experienced RVNs and vets who are committed to delivering the very best care to patients and clients alike. We’re committed to building this the right way, with a dedicated out‑of‑hours and night team in place from the outset to deliver 24/7 care. This ensures seamless patient handovers and consistently high standards of service for our clients.
Crucially, it also means no out‑of‑hours responsibilities for our day RVNs, so you can focus on providing exceptional care during your shift with no on‑call duties, or hand overs to external OOH providers.
A Fantastic Client Base Awaits
Our hospital is the only independent SA practice in the area, and the only practice offering 24/7 care and advanced facilities. We have attracted a large client base from the start, and already see a diverse caseload. No two days are the same, you’ll be part of something with real momentum.
What We're Looking For
- A team player, who is committed to providing excellent care, in an environment that puts the patient before the business.
- This is a unique opportunity for an RVN with team leadership and organisational skills to take on a meaningful role in a growing, progressive environment.
- We’re open to full‑time, part‑time, and flexible working arrangements, and as the practice evolves, so will your opportunities.
- We truly value the expertise and impact of a skilled nursing team, and we want you to thrive in your role.
- As the practice grows, so will your career.
- An RVN with a strong foundation in general nursing, who is registered with the RCVS.
- Someone who enjoys using all aspects of their nursing and leadership/organisational skills, with a genuine commitment to clinical excellence.
- Excited about ongoing development in a practice where full support will be given.
- Bonus points if you are a certificate holder, or are currently working towards one.
- Passionate about upholding high clinical standards, collaborating with a like‑minded team, and delivering outstanding patient and client care.
- Motivated by the opportunity to be part of something new, bringing your ideas, initiative, and leadership to help shape the future of an exceptional, independent hospital.
What We’re Offering:
- A salary of £30,000 – £40,000, depending on experience and additional qualifications.
- Profit share scheme, because everyone contributes to our success.
- Funded CPD, including support for certificates.
- RCVS, VDS and BVNA fees paid.
- No out‑of‑hours or night shifts for day RVNs.
- Flexible rota options, including full‑time and part‑time, with input on your rota.
- Four weeks’ holiday plus bank holidays, with an extra day off for your birthday.
- No reception duties, and proper time to care for your patients.
- Wellbeing prioritised, including dedicated lunch breaks and a staff rest area.
- A voice in how the practice operates – from protocols to patient care, your opinion counts.
