About the role
Are you Interested in shaping the economic future of one of the fastest growing towns in the Midlands? We are looking to recruit an exceptional and dynamic team of economic development professionals to assist with our growth and regeneration agenda.
You will be working as part of a dedicated team to engage and work in partnership with a range of organisations to ensure that we have the best possible business support and inward investment offer, complimented by a skills infrastructure to nurture and develop our businesses and their workforce. We want to attract high quality jobs to Rugby ensuring that our residents have the skills to take advantage of these opportunities.
In this role youll position and promote Rugby Borough as a great place to do business, visit and live, supporting the Boroughs economic development aspirations and the regeneration of Rugby Town Centre.
To achieve this, youll be
Engaging with local businesses to understand and signpost their needs to the Council or other relevant stakeholders
Working in partnership with a range of organisations, developers, agents and operators to identify, foster, secure and maintain inward investors in Rugby
Implementing, monitoring and reviewing our Economic Strategy
Researching sites and properties available for existing business expansion
Responding to new business inward investment enquiries to retain and attract business investment.
About you
To be successful in this role youll need experience working in Economic Development, Business Support, Inward Investment or a related field and be able to demonstrate an understanding of place promotion and what is required to attract new investment into an area. Youll also need good strategic and political awareness, with the ability to work positively and constructively with internal and external stakeholders
