Rugby Borough Council is looking to enhance its Safety & Resilience Team. This is an opportunity to join a dynamic team which is driving behavioural change across the Council to ensure excellence in health, safety, welfare, emergency planning and resilience management and compliance with the Corporate Health and Safety Policy, Emergency planning policies, Procedures, and relevant Statutory Regulations.
The role is to work within the existing Rugby Borough Council Safety and Resilience Team on all aspects of Health and Safety Management, and Resilience across Rugby Borough Council which includes diverse business streams. As part of the team, you will be responsible for actively promoting a positive safety culture and resilience across the organisation. You will interact with multiple stakeholders of all levels.
You will be responsible for predominately the Operational Areas including Work Services, Property Repairs and Grounds Maintenance. You will also support the safety team with business continuity and emergency planning to ensure the resilience of the Council. Hybrid working may be available, but will be determined based on business priorities at that time.
You will need to have experience in either a Health and Safety or Resilience role, hold a relevant professional qualification (such as a NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent) with a willingness to work towards the NEBOSH Diploma if you don't already hold it. Alongside this you'll have excellent organisational, planning, and communication skills both written and spoken, and be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Ideally you will have diversity of experience covering a variety of sites with a range of health and safety / resilience issues, although we can provide site-specific training. If you've worked in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment before we want to hear from you.
