About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and committed individual to join our Benefits Team, to undertake a Benefits apprenticeship and learn how to administer Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reduction and Discretionary Housing Payment applications.
This is a Level 4 Apprenticeship provided through the Institute of Revenues, Rating and Valuation that will give you an in-depth understanding of this area of the Public Sector, giving you a great kickstart to your career if this is an area of interest for you.
We are a small team that works closely together but also alongside the Housing, Homelessness and Council tax teams to make sure we are providing the best support to members of our community who come to us for help in meeting their rent and council tax costs.
About you
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Interest in Local Government and helping residents of Rugby
- Strong Customer Service skills
- Good standard of education, including Maths and English GCSE grade C/4 or above
- Practical experience of ICT systems including working knowledge of IT programs i.e. MS Office particularly Outlook, Word and Excel
- Good written and oral communication skills e.g. ability to speak with a range of people from all walks of life
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, use personal initiative and take responsibility for individual tasks
- Ability to work under pressure in a performance managed environment
