We are seeking an enthusiastic, team‑orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Rufford Vets, Ormskirk on a full‑time basis. Part‑time applications will also be considered. Rufford Veterinary Group is a well‑established practice known for delivering a high‑quality first opinion service, with the capability to perform a wide range of advanced procedures and diagnostics in‑house. Our Ormskirk site offers a busy and varied caseload, including small animals, rabbits, avian, and exotic species, alongside a high number of emergency cases. You’ll be joining a knowledgeable and supportive team who are committed to delivering gold standard patient care and excellent client service. This is an exciting opportunity for a nurse looking to develop their clinical skills within a fast‑paced and rewarding environment.

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high‑quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences. You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice. This is a hands‑on role where you will be involved in all aspects of general nursing, including anaesthesia, inpatient care, nurse consultations, and supporting diagnostic and surgical procedures. You will play a key role in maintaining high standards of patient care while delivering compassionate and effective communication to clients.

This is a full‑time role working 40 hours per week across a 4 or 5 day working week, with shifts covering between 7:00am and 8:00pm. There is a 1 in 5 weekend rota, with no out‑of‑hours requirements after 7:00pm.

General responsibilities include:

  • Deliver high standards of nursing care across a varied and busy caseload
  • Support surgical procedures, including anaesthesia monitoring and theatre nursing
  • Provide excellent inpatient care and support patient recovery
  • Support client communication and promote high standards of service
