Business Development Manager – Software & AI Solutions

Business Development Manager – Software & AI Solutions

Full-Time On-site
R

RudraX is a London-headquartered software engineering practice building production-grade minimum viable products (MVPs), scalable platforms and agentic AI systems for startups and enterprises. Its capabilities span web and mobile applications, bespoke software, AI and machine learning, autonomous agents, and user experience design.

As Business Development Manager, you will turn those capabilities into profitable new client relationships. You will own the sales cycle from prospecting and discovery through proposal, negotiation and signed engagement, working with engineering and delivery colleagues to ensure that what we sell can be delivered.

This is a hands‑on growth role: you will create opportunities rather than depend on a ready‑made lead engine, and help establish a clear, practical sales process as the business grows.

  • Consultative selling to technical buyers
  • CRM hygiene and pipeline forecasting (Salesforce or similar)

Required Skills:

  • Consultative selling to technical buyers
  • Subscription and recurring revenue deal structuring
  • Account-based strategic planning
  • Stakeholder mapping and C-level engagement
  • CRM hygiene and pipeline forecasting (Salesforce or similar)
  • Partner and channel development

Responsibilities:

  • Win new business. Build targeted prospect lists and generate opportunities through personalised outreach, inbound follow-up, referrals and relevant industry events.
  • Focus the market. Agree priority client profiles with leadership, targeting founders, product and technology leaders, and business decision‑makers with a funded need for software or AI solutions.
  • Lead consultative discovery. Understand the business problem, intended outcomes, budget, buying process and timeline. Qualify opportunities and decline work that is not a good fit.
  • Sell outcomes credibly. Connect our capabilities to faster product launches, better workflows or scalable platforms.
  • Explain AI use cases and limitations without making unsupported promises.
  • Shape deliverable proposals. Work with engineers on discovery, estimates and statements of work. Make scope, dependencies, acceptance criteria and commercial assumptions clear.
  • Close with commercial discipline. Negotiate within agreed pricing and approval limits, protecting margin, payment terms and delivery capacity. Escalate contractual or technical risks early.
  • Build routes to market. Develop referral relationships with complementary agencies, startup communities, accelerators and investors where they produce relevant opportunities.
  • Create a reliable sales rhythm. Keep the customer relationship management (CRM) system current; maintain next steps and forecasts, capture win/loss learning, and follow applicable outreach and data‑protection requirements.
  • Hand over and grow accounts. Transfer agreed scope and customer context to delivery, then identify follow‑on work with the account and delivery teams without overcommitting them.

What you will bring:

  • Evidence of winning new clients. A proven record in business‑to‑business sales for a software services company, digital product agency or technology consultancy, including opportunities you originated yourself.
  • Experience selling project‑based work. Confidence managing discovery, proposals, statements of work, negotiation and closure for bespoke technology engagements not only selling standard subscriptions.
  • Practical technical fluency. The ability to discuss MVPs, web and mobile products, integrations, cloud platforms and AI use cases, and recognise when to bring in an engineer. Coding expertise is not required.
  • Commercial judgement. Evidence that you can qualify buyers, balance deal value with delivery risk, and protect scope and margin rather than chase signatures alone.
  • Clear communication. Strong discovery questioning, concise proposal writing and credible conversations with founders, senior technology stakeholders and business buyers.
  • A startup working style. Self‑direction, resourcefulness and willingness to do the prospecting, follow‑up and CRM work yourself while improving the process.

Useful, but not essential:

An existing network of relevant buyers or referral partners; experience in one or more of RudraX’s highlighted sectors such as FinTech, HealthTech, GovTech, etc; familiarity with enterprise procurement; and experience working with distributed engineering and delivery teams.

We value evidence of relevant results over a particular degree or an exact number of years in a job title.

The opportunity:

Help shape how RudraX wins business, working closely with leadership and technical specialists. Sell a range of software and AI capabilities, contribute directly to commercial decisions, and build a sales approach that can grow with the company.

RudraX welcomes applications from people with relevant skills and experience from all backgrounds. Applicants can request reasonable adjustments during recruitment
