We're on the hunt for an enthusiastic, motivated, and hands‑on Junior Sous Chef who thrives on supporting the team, maintaining high standards, and creating dishes that guests will remember long after they leave. The Rudding Park team's core purpose is to create timeless memories and instinctive care in exceptional spaces.

As a junior sous chef within Rudding Park you will be given full training across all areas of the kitchen and have the chance to work across multiple outlets within the resort. This will enable you to gain experience doing different food styles and services. You will be expected to run a section/function within the kitchen and, in the absence of more senior chefs, run a service when needed. You will also be expected to manage the junior team members to motivate, train, ensure the food goes out to the highest standard and that all health and safety / COSHH protocol is followed.

You will need to have an understanding of our computer systems we use for ordering, rotating and food safety. You will be working with a strong motivated kitchen team of experienced and passionate Chefs who promote collaboration and diligence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of dishes using the best fresh & local produce.
  • Run a section/function within the kitchen.
  • Run service in the absence of senior chefs.
  • Using and understanding our computers system for rotating, ordering and food safety to ensure we meet wage and food cost targets.
  • Train and motivate junior chefs to work to expected standards.
  • Taking pride in being responsible for helping to deliver high‑quality food for our guests.
  • Working across all kitchens within the Rudding Park estate, helping you get an understanding of the whole business.
  • Working well in a busy kitchen and thrive under pressure whilst being able to give out clear instruction.
  • Team player who can respectfully communicate to the team.
  • Be reliable, hardworking, trustworthy and passionate in your work.
  • Deal with order, deliveries and stock rotation to ensure correct stock levels and food cost targets are met.
  • Maintain kitchen hygiene standard at all times.
  • Following all health & safety / COSHH protocol and ensure junior team members have a full understanding as well.
  • Do all the above whilst following the core values of Rudding Park.
