As the subject matter expert for HSE governance and integrated management systems, the role interprets legal and regulatory obligations and translates them into practical governance frameworks, management system requirements, processes and documentation for Development, Construction, Operations, Decommissioning and Corporate functions. The role ensures that the management system remains compliant with applicable legal, regulatory and corporate requirements while supporting safe, efficient and consistent operations throughout the offshore wind lifecycle.
Working across multiple jurisdictions—primarily the United Kingdom, Germany and Denmark, the role ensures that HSE governance arrangements are robust, consistently implemented and continuously improved to support operational excellence, regulatory compliance and business resilience.
About the role
- Governance & Management System
- Own and continually improve the We Care Management System, ensuring effective governance, document control and compliance with corporate, regulatory and ISO requirements.
- Act as the HSE Management System Representative (MSR) for Offshore, maintaining system architecture, governance frameworks and document hierarchy.
- Lead management reviews, oversee version control and approvals, and maintain key HSE management platforms including SharePoint and the Project Management Framework.
- Regulatory Compliance
- Monitor changes in legislation, regulations and industry standards, ensuring the management system remains compliant across Offshore Renewables.
- Translate legal and regulatory requirements into practical management system processes and governance arrangements.
- Work closely with Legal, Compliance and operational teams to ensure legal obligations are effectively implemented and maintained.
- Management System Development
- Develop and maintain HSE policies, standards, procedures and governance documentation across the business.
- Drive standardisation and continuous improvement by incorporating audit findings, lessons learned, incidents and industry best practice.
- Manage document reviews, feedback and updates to ensure documentation remains accurate, relevant and effective.
- Assurance & Continuous Improvement
- Coordinate internal and external audits, supporting certification activities and ensuring ongoing compliance.
- Monitor management system performance, analysing HSE data, audit results and assurance findings to identify improvement opportunities.
- Lead continual improvement initiatives that strengthen governance, reduce risk and enhance operational performance.
- Business Support & Stakeholder Engagement
- Provide expert guidance on HSE governance and management system requirements to leaders, project teams and document owners.
- Facilitate governance workshops, management reviews and awareness sessions to promote understanding and compliance.
- Build collaborative relationships across Offshore Renewables to embed ownership and accountability for governance.
- Communication & Reporting
- Prepare governance reports, dashboards and management updates for key stakeholders.
- Coordinate communications relating to governance, regulatory changes and management system updates.
- Promote a positive culture of governance, compliance and continuous improvement across the organisation.
Job requirements and experience
- Recognised Safety / Environment qualification as a HSE professional.
- ISO 45001, ISO 14001 or ISO 9001 Internal Auditor.
- Advanced knowledge of Integrated Management Systems based on ISO Standards such as ISO 45001 & 14001.
- Strategic thinker with strong systems perspective.
- Excellent analytical capability.
- High level of integrity and professional judgement.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Ability to simplify complex regulatory requirements into practical business solutions.
Advantageous, but not essential
- Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, Engineering or another relevant discipline.
Location: London or any UK Offshore Site Office.
