To start as soon as possible, full time, permanent. Functional area: Engineering. Humber Gateway Offshore Wind Farm is a 219MW operational wind farm project, located 8km off the East Coast of the UK operating out of Grimsby. The Operations and Maintenance facility based on Grimsby Dock facilitates a 40 strong team to operate and maintain the offshore asset. As one of the highest performing operational sites in Europe, Humber Gateway Offshore Windfarm is looking for a highly motivated, performance driven individual to join the Engineering team.

As a team member of the dedicated Offshore Engineering and Maintenance Team, you will be responsible for maintaining the Offshore asset infrastructure with 73 Vestas – V112 – 3.0MW Turbines and an Onshore Substation. Your duties as an Operations Engineer will be to conduct maintenance activities associated with the asset, analyse and provide technical input which will form the basis of projects to maintain asset integrity and wind farm revenue. The chosen individual will be required to make well informed dynamic decisions at critical operational points to align with the site performance strategy. In this demanding environment, it is a requirement that all analytical decisions and work activities are met and controlled with the highest Health and Safety standards.

About the role:

  • You will form part of a team of site experts who are responsible for the maintenance, projects, governance and compliance to support the wind farm operations.
  • The areas of responsibility are: High Voltage, Array and Export Cabling, Foundations, Wind Turbine Technology, SCADA Systems, Hydraulics, Electrical and Mechanical assets.
  • Develop and implement the Maintenance Strategies in line with business objectives, company policy and compliance law.
  • Prioritisation of maintenance activities to serve the short, medium and long term performance of the windfarm.
  • Perform duties as a 33kV Multi-Feed Senior Authorised Person and Control Person.
  • Analytic activities monitoring CMS systems of the operational asset, highlighting risks, producing risk mitigation plans and delivering processes.
  • Responsible for the management and execution of various maintenance campaigns, inclusive of internal and relevant contractor resource.
  • You will be working closely with the Humber Gateway Leadership team in ensuring the site meets Business Plan Objectives.
  • The Engineering Manager, Engineering and Maintenance teams to optimise the maintenance strategy.
  • Internal and external stakeholders to ensure downtime planning, resource planning, performance monitoring activities.
  • Conducting all Engineering and Maintenance activities in line with defined Budgets and MTP planning.
  • Responsible for workflow processes to ensure site KPI’s are met to achieve business objectives.
  • Component Failure Investigations.

Job requirements and experience:

  • Influencing and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective working relationships.
  • A proven background in Operations Engineering and already undertaking or have previously enacted this role in the business.
  • A passion for Health and Safety and extensive understanding of HSSE legislation and standards.
  • Planning and organisational skills to include effective prioritisation and resource Management.
  • A suitable Engineering qualification HND or above and Project Management Qualification or experience.
  • Experience of managing budgets and contractors.
  • Comfortable working in an office environment and offshore, which includes working at height and in restricted spaces to fulfil offshore maintenance and inspection work activities.
  • Analytical approach to problem solving and delivering the solutions and evaluations via reports and presentations.
  • Deliver and comply with systems to evaluate and mitigate asset risk, focused on continuous improvement.
  • Provide Site for RWE Renewables at meetings involving internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintenance Specialist in a power generation or heavy industry environment.
