We currently have an exciting opportunity for a talented and proven CAR / Construction Liability Adjuster to join our Construction & Engineering team. Ideally candidates should be based in and around London/Home Counties region. The role will involve handling claims predominantly in the UK, but there is the likelihood that the candidate will be involved in handling international construction losses.

Reporting to the Head of Construction & Engineering you will be responsible for handling a broad portfolio of CAR / EAR / Construction Liability and other claims, from investigation to settlement, ensuring company standards are met in relation to all technical and operational policies and procedures, including data protection and information security.

Key Accountabilities

  • Investigating, negotiating and agreeing settlement of claims in a professional manner
  • Liaising with insured, other interested parties, insurers and brokers to achieve professional and timely conclusion of claims
  • Completing on site investigations and damage surveys for claims
  • Producing reports in compliance with professional standards and internal guidelines in accordance with agreed timescales
  • Actively contribute towards McLarens’ business development programme
  • Network, identify and facilitate opportunities for business growth
  • Undertaking projects and other ad hoc work as required

Experience and Qualifications

Successful candidates must be professionally qualified or have gained significant experience in the CAR/ EAR / Construction Liability loss adjusting sector, or in allied professions, demonstrating a focus on quality, communication and organisational skills. A proven, positive reputation in the construction insurance market and experience in handling construction-related insurance claims is necessary. The person will have proven capability to be able to work autonomously as and when required. But, the role is for a person who will be a central, senior member of the McLarens Construction & Engineering team, who will be expected to act as a leader and contribute to the learning and development of more junior members in the team.

The position is home based. However, due to the geographic coverage of the role, travel will be required from time to time. The candidate will be expected to be able to travel to and work in the London City office attending meetings with clients and members of the McLarens Construction & Engineering team on a weekly basis.
