Job Description

The Role

Deritend, part of the Rubix Group, was founded in 1898 and serves more than 3,500 customers in the UK and boasts a blue-chip client base that includes some of the largest manufacturers and best known brands in the world. We specialise in optimising asset performance, including motors, gear boxes, pumps, machining induction, condition monitoring and fabrication services.

The purpose of the role is to inspect, identify problems, strip and repair motor and gear boxes to the required customer standards.

Key Responsibilities

Main Tasks and Deliverables:

  • Ensure workflow procedures are followed.
  • Ensure plant maintenance is carried out and recorded.
  • Dismantle and inspect rotating plan equipment and assess appropriate fixes.
  • Carry out workplace risk assessments and method statements where necessary.
  • Provide guidance and technical support to personnel and apprentices.
  • Refurbishment of pumps and rotating equipment including stripping & painting.
  • Ensure workshop presentation standards are maintained and working area is cleaned regularly.
  • Ensure quality of work is in line with customer expectations.
  • Delivery of jobs in line with customer timescales.
  • Strip and inspection procedures of all parts to be followed.
  • Customer site work as and when required.
  • Ensure that all company H&S policies and procedures are followed to ensure the safety of yourself and your colleagues.
  • Promote a culture of working safely as routine.
  • Work closely with customers to understand and address their needs and continually provide high levels of service.
  • Deliver on commitments, taking personal responsibility to ensure customer satisfaction is always achieved.

Skills and Experience

  • C&G Mechanical Fitting H03 & H25 or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of pumps fundamentals.
  • Fully conversant with all types of pumps.
  • BPMA is advantageous.
  • Driving license.
