We're looking for a Continuous Improvement Manager to embed a CI culture across the business β identifying and leading improvement projects, training and empowering staff at all levels, and applying Lean, 5S, Kaizen, FMEA and Six Sigma techniques to boost efficiency, reduce working capital and raise service quality. You'll work closely with Key Account, Technical, Supply Chain and Regional teams (and key suppliers) to develop metrics, visual management tools and problem-solving frameworks that drive measurable results.
We're after someone analytically strong, Excel-confident, well-versed in lean methodologies (VSM, standard ops, Kanban), with solid mechanical/engineering knowledge and the influence and credibility to lead change at every level.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with Rubix UK&I staff at all levels to identify continuous improvement projects in line with Joint business objectives.
- To hold responsibility for the embedding of continuous improvement excellence.
- Promote a continuous improvement culture throughout the business by training, developing and empowering others to contribute and lead improvement projects.
- Ensure all improvements are in line with company business strategy and other initiatives.
- Develop and implement metrics and measures to show the impact of improvement initiatives where appropriate.
- Suggest and discuss modifications to improve throughput, Increase efficiency and reduce working capital.
- Keep up to date with continuous improvement techniques such as Lean, 5S, Kaizen, FMEA, 6 Sigma
- Lead and champion initiatives, working with all departments to ensure development of targets, initiatives, measurement and continuous improvement of related failures.
- Consult, lead and participate in activities and design groups to including value stream mapping, 5S, visual workplace, kaizen etc to deliver the Rubix UK&I value proposition.
- Develop and implement a toolkit of problem solving tools and techniques in order to achieve the benefits of improved quality, performance and job satisfaction
- Raise the profile of Rubix UK&I with continuous improvement across the customers business
- Develop enhanced visual management
- Develop a standard product failure reporting tool with performance analysis.
- Working with the Key Account team, Technical team, Supply chain & Regional Teams and our Key Suppliers.
What skills and experience will you need?
- Strong analytical analysis skills with a high level of computer literacy.
- Strong ability to accurately present statistical information using various media including excel and other mainstream office packages.
- Sound knowledge of lean methodologies and tools such as value stream mapping, standard ops, visual management, Kanban, lean and problem solving.
- Evidence of working within a progressive continuous improvement environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to include the ability to influence and persuade at all levels within the organisation, to build trust and confidence and establish credibility.
- Ability to accurately assess key business metrics and situations and provide action plans.
- Professional, flexible, highly motivated with open leadership style.
- Strong problem solving skills with ability to show initiative, creativity and logic.
- Strong mechanical / engineering knowledge.
