About the Role:

  • Safe supervision of workshop activities to ensure jobs are delivered on time, within budget and to quality standards.
  • Working with project managers, engineers and customers to prioritise workshop activity.
  • Ensure completion of workshop safety documentation including RAMS, training records and machinery inspection records.
  • Develop, inspire, mentor, and evaluate the engineering team and direct training of apprentices.
  • Prepare job quotes and reports detailing technical requirements including job costing, work carried out and recommendations.
  • Support other job functions as requested by Engineering Manager, including site work, and operating in other engineering workshops.
  • Active participation in on call rota, shift working and overtime requests to ensure service levels are maintained.
  • Assisting with pump and motor overhauls in the workshop as required and using your specialist skills (eg balancing, testing, laser alignment etc).

Key Skills, Experience & Requirements:

  • Experienced supervisor OR a pump or motor specialist, winder, or machinist, looking to make a move into a management position.
  • Computer literate with good organisational and communication skills - Essential.
  • IOSH or able to achieve in short order with experience producing H&S documentation.
  • Holder of other relevant skill such as dynamic balancing, laser alignment, 18th edition, CCNSG, EUSR, ATEX.
