The Role

Permanent Full Time Deritend part of the Rubix Group of Companies was founded in 1898 and serves more than 3,500 customers in the UK and boasts a blue-chip client base that includes some of the largest manufacturers and best-known brands in the world. We specialise in optimising asset performance, including motors, gear boxes, pumps, machining, condition monitoring and fabrication services. We are looking for a motivated individual to join us and further strengthen our fabrication team within our Deritend Middlesbrough facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fabricate from a drawing or sketch and fully weld carbon steel / stainless steel structures including access platforms, ladders, handrailing & general light to medium duty fabrications.
  • On site installation of carbon steel and stainless-steel structures.
  • Ensure that all company H&S policies and procedures are followed to ensure the safety of yourself and your colleagues.
  • Promote a culture of working safely as routine.
  • Occasionally you may be asked to work away for a short period of time.

Key Skills / Qualifications

Essential:

  • Minimum 5+ years MIG welding experience - weld test will be carried out during interview.
  • Time served within fabrication minimum City & Guilds.
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings.
  • Experience working with power tools such as grinders and drills.
  • Be able to produce high quality work, with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to develop and learn new techniques.
  • A positive attitude towards teamwork and health and safety in the workplace.
  • CCSNG Site Safety Passport.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable:

  • City & Guilds medium risk confined spaces (water).
  • EUSR water hygiene card.
  • Experience driving fork lift trucks.
  • Experience using overhead pendant crane.
  • Experience using pipe bending equipment.
  • TIG Welding experience.
  • MMA Welding Experience – Sometimes used during site work installations.
