Business Development Manager - Cutting & Machining

The Category Business Development Manager – Tools will be responsible for owning and driving sales in their business area, under the direction of the Head of Category or Category Manager, and ultimately, by the Commercial Director.

Key Responsibilities

1. Drive category sell-out
2. Support quotes, tenders and special projects
3. Identify opportunities for cross-sell, OEM conversion and value creation
4. Support Sales Organisation in discussions with customers
5. Develop their own sales plan and pipeline
6. Support ideation and implementation of sales initiatives (e.g., campaigns, training, sales enablers, etc.)
7. Keep up to date with category knowledge, products and applications
8. Support tool trials, conversions & cost saving activity in new & existing customers
9. Drive core compliance of strategic suppliers
10. Engage with and support specialist businesses with new business opportunities

Skills and Experience:

Essential

1. Excellent technical knowledge of the Tools category, products and applications
2. Understanding of the industry, markets, trends & developments
3. Understanding of different suppliers in the categories and main characteristics / differences
4. Understanding of competitors in the market
5. Ability to liaise with different stakeholders in the organization
6. Ability to liaise with customers’ stakeholders at various levels

Desirable

1. Ability to set and implement product strategy
2. Experience with B2B industrial sales
3. Data management and analysis
