The Role
Permanent Full Time
At Rubix UK, no two days are ever the same – and that’s just how we like it. We’re currently looking for a proactive, flexible, and hands-on Maintenance Engineer to join our dedicated NDC Support Team.
Working as part of a close-knit three-person team, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining and supporting a wide range of systems and infrastructure across our National Distribution Centre (NDC). Our equipment is bespoke and has evolved over 25 years – so a willingness to learn, adapt, and get stuck in is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carrying out daily safety and operational checks on our automated crane aisle and shelf retrieval systems.
- Walking the conveyor system to inspect belts, motors, and line shafts for any signs of issues or wear.
- Flexibility to cover all aspects of maintaining a whole site from automation and conveyors to water leaks, door issues and all in-between.
- Responding to breakdowns and assisting with occasional weekend work as needed.
- Using your electrical expertise to fault-find and repair systems running Siemens PLC and SEW drives.
- Applying general practical skills (e.g. plumbing, carpentry, metal work) to address varied site maintenance tasks.
Key Skills / Qualifications:
- Strong electrical knowledge and troubleshooting ability (mechanical knowledge is a bonus).
- Familiarity with Siemens PLCs and SEW drives is highly beneficial.
- A flexible team player who can adapt to changing priorities and help out wherever needed.
- A practical, hands-on individual who’s comfortable learning new systems and taking on a wide variety of maintenance tasks.
- Computer competency will be required as B.M.S and automation systems are managed this way.
