Role Summary
The Workshop Engineer will inspect, identify problems, strip and repair motor and gear boxes to meet customer standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure workflow procedures are followed.
- Ensure plant maintenance is carried out and recorded.
- Dismantle and inspect rotating plant equipment and assess appropriate fixes.
- Carry out workplace risk assessments and method statements where necessary.
- Provide guidance and technical support to personnel and apprentices.
- Re‑ refurbish pumps and rotating equipment, including stripping and painting.
- Maintain workshop presentation standards and keep the working area clean.
- Ensure the quality of work meets customer expectations.
- Deliver jobs in line with customer timescales.
- Follow strip and inspection procedures for all parts.
- Handle customer site work as required.
- Follow all company H&S policies and procedures to ensure safety.
- Promote a culture of working safely as a routine.
- Work closely with customers to understand and address their needs, continually providing high levels of service.
- Deliver on commitments, taking personal responsibility to ensure customer satisfaction.
Skills and Experience
- C&G Mechanical Fitting H03 & H25 or equivalent.
- Knowledge of pumps fundamentals.
- Fully conversant with all types of pumps.
- BPMA is advantageous.
- Driving licence.
