Role Summary

The Workshop Engineer will inspect, identify problems, strip and repair motor and gear boxes to meet customer standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure workflow procedures are followed.
  • Ensure plant maintenance is carried out and recorded.
  • Dismantle and inspect rotating plant equipment and assess appropriate fixes.
  • Carry out workplace risk assessments and method statements where necessary.
  • Provide guidance and technical support to personnel and apprentices.
  • Re‑ refurbish pumps and rotating equipment, including stripping and painting.
  • Maintain workshop presentation standards and keep the working area clean.
  • Ensure the quality of work meets customer expectations.
  • Deliver jobs in line with customer timescales.
  • Follow strip and inspection procedures for all parts.
  • Handle customer site work as required.
  • Follow all company H&S policies and procedures to ensure safety.
  • Promote a culture of working safely as a routine.
  • Work closely with customers to understand and address their needs, continually providing high levels of service.
  • Deliver on commitments, taking personal responsibility to ensure customer satisfaction.

Skills and Experience

  • C&G Mechanical Fitting H03 & H25 or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of pumps fundamentals.
  • Fully conversant with all types of pumps.
  • BPMA is advantageous.
  • Driving licence.
