Role Purpose: To lead and develop Gapp Automation as a profitable, growth-oriented business within the Rubix MCA Division. The Managing Director will provide strong commercial and operational leadership, driving strategic sales growth, supplier development, and organisational capability to achieve sustained revenue and margin improvement. The position requires a hands-on approach, working closely with a small, high-performing team, and close collaboration with other Rubix group businesses to identify synergies, shared opportunities, and cross-divisional growth.

Strategic & Business Development:
- Develop and implement the company’s strategic plan, aligned with MCA and Group objectives, to deliver sustainable growth and profitability.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities with existing and prospective customers through a structured sales strategy and proactive key-account engagement.
- Lead efforts to expand Gapp’s product and solution portfolio, including onboarding and developing new suppliers in automation, motion control, and complementary technologies.
- Evaluate partnership opportunities with other Rubix group businesses to create integrated offerings and shared commercial benefit.
Commercial & Financial Accountability:
- Oversee all aspects of business operations to ensure efficient performance and long-term financial stability.
- Work closely with the finance function to set budgets, track performance, and improve commercial understanding across the team.
- Monitor key financial and operational KPIs, ensuring compliance with Group reporting requirements.
- Drive margin improvement initiatives through cost control, supplier negotiations, and pricing discipline.
Sales Strategy & Execution:
- Define and execute a growth-focused sales strategy aimed at increasing market share in key customer segments.
- Support the sales team in identifying target accounts, developing value propositions, and closing opportunities.
- Encourage use of CRM tools, digital marketing, and e-commerce platforms to enhance customer reach and retention.
- Represent Gapp Automation at key customer and supplier meetings to strengthen market presence and strategic partnerships.
Supplier & Product Development:
- Continue to oversee and enhance supplier relationships, particularly with international partners.
- Identify and qualify new suppliers to broaden the product portfolio and enhance competitiveness.
- Ensure robust quality, pricing, and delivery performance across the supply base.
E-Commerce & Digital Growth:
- Drive continued development of the Gapp online platform, product range expansion, and SEO performance.
- Promote innovation in digital marketing, content creation, and customer engagement through online channels.
General Responsibilities:
- Support and collaborate with HR, finance, and operational teams as required.
- Ensure compliance with Rubix Group policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Act as an ambassador for Rubix UKII, promoting the values and strategic intent of the Group.
