Product Design and Development

  • Create detailed designs and technical specifications for products, systems, or components using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software (e. g., Solid Works, Draftsight and Revit).
  • Conduct design reviews with stakeholders, ensuring that designs meet customer requirements, regulatory standards, and manufacturability.
  • Follow CAD and drawing departmental guidelines.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of all design work, including drawings, models, specifications, and test results in compliance with the QMS.
  • Prepare and present design reports and updates for management and stakeholders, providing clear documentation of design iterations and final specifications.
  • Ensure all designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, environmental guidelines and industry best practices.

Collaboration and communication

  • Collaborate with other departments, including procurement and manufacturing, to ensure successful product realisation.
  • Communicate design concepts clearly through drawings, reports, presentations, and meetings.
  • Support sales and marketing teams with technical insights for customer-facing materials.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities for design improvements and cost reduction without compromising quality or performance.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and materials to incorporate innovations into designs.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • HNC/HND engineering qualification - minimum.
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Product Design, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in industrial Valves, Actuation.
  • Experience in fluid dynamics and mechanical engineering are essential.
  • Experience working with pressure vessels would be advantageous.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e. g., Solid Works, Draftsight, Revit, CATIA, etc.).
  • Technical: Strong knowledge of engineering principles, mechanics.
  • Detail-oriented: a strict focus on engineering quality and efficiency.
  • Problem-solving: Strong analytical and creative problem solving.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts simply.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work well in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
