Role Overview

Mechanical Design Engineer | Wareham | Up to £45,000

If you're a detail-driven engineer who takes pride in producing accurate, well-justified designs, this is a role built for someone who wants to go deep rather than wide.

Responsibilities

  • Completing the full mechanical design of components to meet defined functional and performance requirements
  • Producing drawings and documentation to a high standard using Solid Edge 3D CAD
  • Carrying out structural analysis and providing design justification through calculation
  • Supporting equipment testing and trials to verify designs meet functional requirements
  • Presenting designs to internal stakeholders and maintaining accurate engineering records

Experience Required

  • HNC, HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification
  • Practical experience using Solid Edge 3D CAD or similar 3D CAD software
  • Competence in mechanism and assembly design, material selection, and stress analysis
  • Ability to work with minimal guidance and manage tasks to cost and time
  • Experience in marine or defence engineering is desirable but not essential
  • Eligibility to obtain SC (Security Clearance)
