A well-established specialist manufacturer in Crawley is experiencing a significant uplift in demand and needs an experienced TIG Welder / Metal Polisher to help them keep pace. This is an initial 6-month temporary contract with strong potential to extend, giving you the chance to get stuck into meaningful, skilled work with a business that's genuinely thriving. Responsibilities

  • TIG welding and purge welding components to a hygienic finish in line with food industry standards
  • Measuring, marking, and inspecting finished work to verify quality at every stage
  • Polishing and finishing stainless steel parts using machinery, hand tools, and appropriate techniques
  • Operating grinding and polishing machinery to remove stains and achieve consistent surface finishes
  • Maintaining a clean, organised workspace and supporting minor equipment repairs as required

Experience

  • Proven TIG welding experience, ideally within a food manufacturing or hygienic fabrication environment
  • Confidence polishing and finishing stainless steel to a high standard
  • Familiarity with health and safety requirements specific to welding and fabrication
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify defects through close visual inspection
  • Physical fitness for the demands of the role, including some manual handling
  • A methodical approach to quality and the ability to work to tight production deadlines
