Responsibilities

  • Preparing monthly management accounts to trial balance, including journals, accruals, and prepayments
  • Managing day-to-day banking, cashflow forecasting, and the invoice financing facility
  • Overseeing sales and purchase ledger, credit control, and VAT return submissions
  • Running monthly payroll via Brightpay and managing pension submissions and PAYE
  • Providing line management and support to the Accounts and Payroll Administrator
  • Reviewing and improving accounting and payroll processes to keep things running smoothly

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a similar standalone or senior finance role
  • Confident working with Sage for ledger management, journals, and reconciliations
  • Experience managing payroll, ideally using Brightpay or a similar system
  • Solid understanding of credit control, VAT compliance, and cashflow management
  • Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or SME environment would be advantageous
  • AAT qualified or qualified by experience
